Serving up snippets of grub for the mind wallaby
Quick response to security advisories from the developers of Wordpress. Secunia highlighted this flaw on 11th Aug 2005, Wordpress version 1.5.2 was released on 14th Aug 2005.
Weblogs Work quickly bashed out this article for managed weblogs. Whilst I agree that managed weblogs are going to work well for some businesses, they are using FUD to promote the idea. Personally I don’t think this is the best way to market anything.

Great update for everyone on this. I think Alex’s point was less to spread FUD (”my word! I’ve got to get a managed blog to stave off the security boogyman!”) as much as to say that for most people, tracking the minutiae of blogging technologies isn’t going to be efficient, isn’t going to help them keep their business focus and isn’t, in the end, going to be as productive for their business blogging.

I actually wrote the post and clearly I have an agenda. Many people have suggested that weblogs are easy - i.e. there is no need for management - I was trying to point out some of the esoteric issues and potential risks that companies who blog will have to deal with.
Much like firms that hire outside vendors to take out the trash, mow the lawn or do the books - we believe that managed weblogs are a great solution for many companies. Sorry if the post came off as FUD, but at the end of the day there is already quite of uncertainty in the blogging space for businesses.
